From ambrose@fnal.gov Fri Nov 9 22:46:39 2001 Date: Fri, 09 Nov 2001 22:46:19 -0600 From: David Ambrose To: COT Group -- Adam , Alec , Aseet , Ashutosh Kotwal , Ayana , Bill Orejudos , Bill Robertson , Bob Wagner , Dave Ambrose , Eiko , Eric James , Evelyn , Greg Veramendi , Jay , JC Yun , Ken Schultz , Kevin Burkett , Kevin Pitts , Kirby , Marina Brozovic , Michael Lindgren , Morris , Nigel Lockyer , Paris , Peter Tamburello , Peter Wittich , pjw , Reinhard Eckmann , Rob Snihur , Robyn Madrak , Ron Moore , Ting , Tom Phillips , Young-Kee Subject: status of COT Tonight I ran tests on the COT in preparation for the baggy tomorrow. Crate #4 now works after getting a new TRACER (the old TRACER from the clean room was returned as requested by the XFT'ers). >From Bob's day shift list yesterday: SL8-387 (D,619,18-06-3): 00 dead, 01 hot!, 03 warm, 00 null --> Now looks perfect after f-cage work. SL8-437 (D,704,19-07-0): 00 dead, 01 hot!, 07 warm, 01 null --> Still slightly noisy, could use more copper tape. SL8-401 (D,666,18-04-2): 00 dead, 01 hot!, 04 warm, 01 null --> Still moderate noise. SL7-378 (D,693,09-06-1): 00 dead, 01 hot!, 04 warm SL7-379 (D,693,09-06-1): 00 dead, 00 hot!, 09 warm --> Still very noisy. All plug-ins now look OK except for a patch of cells in SL4: SL4-252 (D,672,19-17-0): 04 dead, 04 hot!, 00 warm, 00 null SL4-254 (D,673,19-17-1): 05 dead, 00 hot!, 00 warm, 00 null SL4-256 (D,674,19-17-2): 08 dead, 00 hot!, 00 warm, 00 null --> 254 and 256 look like bad rptr or TDC plug-ins, but 252 is strange in that the high even-cell wires are dead, which is not indicative of a cable dislodged anywhere (see web site http://penn01.fnal.gov/~cot/oct2001/ for picture). I haven't looked at them yet, but both TDC and rptr should be easy to check out.
