theory to explain the difference between pi and e (Eiko)
- Raw width vs drift distance from conversion electrons -
My original theory was that in the center of the cell (drift distance
greater than 2mm, less than 8mm), width will not depend on the cell
size. But from the plot, we can see that SL2 still has larger width
than the other superlayers, while SL1 has the smallest. Also the dip
in the middle seems to have the same amount of effect for all the
superlayers.
- Width vs drift distance from simulated proton tracks
-
The dip and the over all width dependence on drift distance is much less
than the data. Also there's a hill instead of a valley in the central
region.
The small dip doesn't occur until drift distance is less than 1mm.
